Early Success
Initially, Arcangel did not like reggaetón, but he said that he sang it because it was easy to sing. He later came to appreciate this musical style after his life in Puerto Rico exposed him to the leading singers of this genre.
In 2003, he formed his own reggaetón group named Arcangel y de la Ghetto. The group released their first hit single, “Ven y Pegate,” in 2006. More hits including “Ella Quiere” and “Aparentemente” followed in quick succession.

Shooting Incident
In 2015, the singer performed at the Majestic Event Center in Orlando. As he and his entourage were driving away in a van, another car pulled up beside them and someone began shooting into the van. Arcangel was not hurt and the police were unable to find the mystery shooter.

Arcangel continues to make music and to tour. He maintains contact with his fans and his colleagues in the music industry.
