In addition, he was a spokesperson for a number of brands like Pizza Hut, Nike, and American Express, for which he also earned a good amount of cash.

He was the head coach and founder of Prime Prep Academy Charter School. He launched the school after funding other chartered schools in Texas.

He also has a younger sister named Tracy Knight and they are of African and American descent.

Ever since he was a young boy, Sander’s was involved in sports. He attended North Fort Myers High School in North Fort Myers, Florida, where he was All-State selected in basketball, football, and baseball.

In addition, he was chosen as one of Florida high school’s top-33 players within their 100 years of football history and referred to the All-Century Team of the Florida High School Association in 1985.

The athlete’s talents in baseball did not go unnoticed as he was chosen during his senior year, in the 6th round of the MLB draft.

After he graduated from high school, Sanders attended college at Florida State University, where he played both football and baseball.

Due to his excellent defense strategy, when playing in the University’s bowl game, Sander’s won the Jim Thorpe Award and in 1986, hit .331 and was known for stealing bases as in 1987 he had compiled 27 stolen bases.

Sander’s first marriage was to Carolyn Chambers, with which he has two children; a son “Deion Sanders Jr.“ and a daughter “Deiondra Sanders”. This marriage lasted 9 years from 1989 to 1998;

Shortly after he and Chambers separated, he married Pilar Sanders in 1999.

This marriage lasted for 14 years and they had two sons; “Shilo Sanders” and “Shedeur Sanders,” and one daughter; “Shelomi Sanders”.

However, things got ugly for Deion when Pilar made accusations of him physically abusing her and the court took her side in 2017, which caused Deion to have to sell his Texas luxury mansion.

Since 2012, Sander’s has been seeing businesswoman “Tracey Edmonds” whom he shares a 600 square foot house in Texas and there are no signs of the couple breaking up anytime soon.

Career

The professional baseball career of Deion Sanders’s began during the Major League Baseball draft in 1985 when he was chosen by the Kansas City Royals. However, Sanders turned down the opportunity and signed with Florida State University instead where he was active in football, track and field, and baseball.

The following season, he signed on with the Dallas Cowboys, for which he got a $35 million contract.

The lucrative deal also included a $12.999 million sign-on bonus that made him the highest-paid “defensive” player in NFL history.

Sander’s performance earned him an award for the “1994 NFL Defensive Player of the Year”.

Eventually, he was released from the team in 2000 and signed a whopping $56 million contract with the “Washington Redskins” after an unsatisfactory year, but, he soon retired in 2001.
