There has been a rumor that Alessia was dating her boyfriend of several years named Kevin Garett. News surfaced on many platforms of the couple splitting up. Reports are saying that her song “Not Today” is about her ex-boyfriend Kevin.

In November 2018 Cara posted a tweet about the song saying it was just something allowing her to wallow in misery until she pursued happiness once more. There used to be posts of Cara and Kevin, but now those posts have all been removed, further confirming to fans that the couple has split up.

In 2014 after Cara finished high school she had scholarship offers from various universities, but she listened to her guy and sat out for a year to pursue her dreams in music.
