She makes about 10 million dollars a year.

How does Avril Lavigne Make her Money?

She makes most of her money from her album and single sales and her tours. As she has sold over 50 million singles and 40 million albums, this is a large part of her yearly earnings.

She also earns a percentage any time her videos as viewed on YouTube, as part of the advertising revenue. Her single “Girlfriend” was the first video to get 1 million views on YouTube and has earned her over $2 million dollars alone.

Each time an album or single of hers is played on the radio or streaming services or is downloaded, she earns a percentage. Because of this, even during years when she hasn’t released an album or gone on tour, she still has a large income.

She also earns a smaller amount from her fashion line. While her perfume lines have sold out completely, her Abbey Dawn clothing line continues to earn her several hundred thousand dollars a year. She also earns a small salary from her bit parts in movies and as a voice actor.

Favorite Quotes from Avril Lavigne

“No one really knows what I’m really like, and you won’t unless you spend a day with me, or if you’re my friend. No one ever knows what anyone is really like. Read all the interviews you want on them, it’s just the media talking and you can’t really get to know someone that way, obviously.”

“Well, a lot of people don’t know this about me, but I’m actually shy around people I don’t know. I would just say with my first concert, my first tour, I didn’t really talk onstage. I was like, ‘Thank you, I love you guys,’ or whatever. But now I’ve just kind of learned to work for a crowd.”

Tips for success from Avril Lavigne

“When people come to a concert, they wanna hear the hits, the big radio songs, and they wanna hear them how they’re used to hearing them. I like playing them how they were recorded.”

“It’s so different now coming out as a new artist today than it was when I came out almost ten years ago. Now, it’s all about singles, it’s really quick, it’s online. I came out when people sold records and they still do today but – I don’t know what the key is.”

“Staying true to yourself and trusting your instincts is very important. I’ve learned this both through creating music, where I’ve always stayed focused on recording music that is true to who I am and to my fans, and through my recent health struggles, where I knew something more was going on than what I was hearing from different doctors; I had to trust myself and continue to pursue a diagnosis.”
