First Taste of Fame
Michele first came to public attention as the girlfriend of singer Chris Brown. In 2011, that brief glimpse of fame led to something much bigger when she was asked to appear on the reality show Basketball Wives: LA.
She appeared in the same season that also featured Keshia Knight-Pulliam and Marques Houston.
There was some controversy over her appearance on the show because it was not clear that she was actually dating or married to any professional basketball player.
She was initially rumored to be linked to Shannon Brown of the Los Angeles Laker. Michele denied that rumor vehemently.
She was apparently invited onto the show by cast member Gloria Govan, who met Michele in an acting class.
