Jackie’s parents sent him to the China Drama Academy which is part of the Peking Opera School. While at the school, Jackie studied acrobatics and martial arts.

He was so good that he was asked to join a performance group comprised of the school’s top students. He developed his first stage name, Yuen Lo.

He became close friends with the other members of the group and together they studied hapkido.

Jackie married a Taiwanese actress named Joan Lin in 1982. They had a son named Jaycee Chan in 1982. In the 1990s, he cheated on his wife.

This came to light when his mistress, Elaine Ng Yi-Lei, revealed that she had a daughter on January 18, 1999.

The announcement of Etta Ng Chok Lam’s birth was a huge shock and became a big scandal that was covered for a long time by Chinese media and American media alike.

Jackie claimed that he gave Elaine 70,000 Hong Kong dollars every month to help with the costs of raising a child. He said he also gave her 600,000 additional HK dollars when she moved to Shanghai.

However, she claims none of this ever happened. Elaine was extremely upset but said that she didn’t need Jackie and she would raise their child on her own.

While Jackie made comments that he wished the affair hadn’t resulted in the birth of a child out of wedlock, he never apologized. Instead, he said that he only did something that many men in the world do as well.

Career

Jackie started his career as a child actor. He played a number of small roles in films, including the starring role in a porn film called “All in the Family.”

Jackie decided to take a hiatus from American films and instead focus on Asian movies. He started perfecting his stunts and fight scenes and started to be known for his quick wit and impeccable moves.

He even starred in a movie that won “Best Film” at the Hong Kong Film Festival.

From the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, Jackie was extremely popular in Asia and Europe. He wanted to get back into American films but refused to take roles as a villain, which was extremely common for Asian actors.

His 1995 film, “Rumble in the Bronx” and 1996 film “Supercop” earned him notoriety in the United States but not superstardom.

It wasn’t until Jackie costarred in the 1998 movie “Rush Hour” that Jackie became a household name in America. The “Rush Hour” franchise made Jackie a lot of money, but his next few films bombed.
