They have been in each other’s lives for more than 19 years. Even though they have not yet gotten married, they have decided to have children. They are expecting twins via surrogacy since K. Michelle has lupus and can no longer conceive children.


As a graduate of FAMU, K. Michelle had an excellent GPA received many offers from law schools. Instead of pursuing her career law, she decided to follow her passion.

Her music career started in 2009 with her getting a deal with Jive Records. At the time she released her first charting record “Fakin’ It”.

In 2012, K. Michelle joined the cast of VH1’s reality series called Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. After the second season, K. Michelle left that cast, to move on Love & Hip Hop: New York during its fourth season. Her goal was to help boost ratings and work more on her music career.

Eventually, K. Michelle signed a deal with Atlantic Records, and on August 13, 2013, she dropped her debut album “Rebellious Soul”.

This first album was gained lots of success, hitting number 2 on the UC Billboard 200 chart. It also reached the top spot on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.
