Early Life

Mila’s real name is Milena Markovna Kunis, but she goes by her nickname, Mila. She was born on August 14, 1983, in Chernivtsi, Soviet Union (now Ukraine).

Her family is Jewish, and her native tongue is Russian. English is a second language for Mila, surprisingly.

Mila’s family wasn’t poor. In fact, her mother, Elvira, ran a pharmacy and was a physics teacher. Her father, Mark, was a mechanical engineer and also a cab driver.

They chose to leave the Soviet Union because of strong anti-Semitism and the lack of opportunities for Mila and her older brother, Michael.

Mila’s parents tried as hard as they could to teach Judaism to their children, but religion was suppressed in the Soviet Union.

Mila says that her parents had incredible jobs that they gave up to move to the United States for their kids. Mila was just seven years old when her family moved to Los Angeles in 1991.

They were only allowed to take $250 with them and sadly, their degrees didn’t translate to the same equivalent in America, so they had to get entry-level jobs.

The family arrived in New York on a Wednesday and by Friday, Mila and her brother were already going to school in Los Angeles at Rosewood Elementary School.

She didn’t know any English and found it very difficult to connect with her peers. She later went to Bancroft Middle School and had a tutor to finish high school while on set. Mila briefly attended UCLA but never graduated.

Personal life

Mila is a huge supporter of the Democratic party. She does whatever she can to campaign for Democratic candidates.

In 2011, Mila revealed that she had a condition that caused her temporary blindness in one of her eyes. Thankfully the surgery was able to correct the problem.

She also has a condition that’s resulted in her eyes being two different colors. One is green, one is brown. Mila started dating “Home Alone” actor Macaulay Culkin in 2002.

They tried their best to keep their relationship out of the spotlight and rarely appeared together. In 2011, their publicists confirmed that the couple had ended their long-running relationship.

Though no longer together, the two said they would always be close friends. In 2012, Mila and her former “That 70s Show” costar Ashton Kutcher confirmed that they were dating.

Around Valentine’s Day in 2014, the couple got engaged and in 2015 married in California. They have two children together, Wyatt and Dmitri.

As an after-school activity, Mila participated in acting classes. That’s where she was discovered by an agent. Her first television appearance was in 1994 on “Days of Our Lives.”

She had a number of small features in television shows like “Baywatch” and “Seventh Heaven.”
In 1998, Mila got her big break. She was cast as Jackie on Fox’s hit television program “That 70s Show.”

Tips for success from Mila Kunis

1.Don’t let anyone tell you something is too hard. When I came to America, I couldn’t even speak English but managed to become a successful actress. It is not about the skills you have, it is about the drive and determination that’s inside of you.
2.Have a compassionate heart, especially to strangers. People are hurting and sometimes they can express it in odd ways. Instead of responding in anger or other negative ways, show them love instead.
3.Family is everything. They are the people who love you the most, will sacrifice the most for you and teach you how to be the best version of you. Tell them every day how much you appreciate them
