NBA YoungBoy’s upbringing was rough and tumble. When he was a toddler, his neck was broken while wrestling. For months, he was forced to wear a halo brace, which permanently scarred his forehead.

His mother moved away soon after YoungBoy’s father was incarcerated, leaving YoungBoy and his older sister and younger brother to be raised by their grandmother. As a teenager, he attended Scotlandville Magnet High School. However, he dropped out just before his freshman year to focus on a music career.
A microphone purchased at Walmart at the age of 14 helped to inspire YoungBoy’s music, but he had been writing songs since the age of about seven. His mother also was a rapper before she married and had children.

Other close family includes NBA YoungBoy’s four sons. The oldest is Kayden, who was born in 2016 to YoungBoy’s now-ex-girlfriend Nisha.

Career
