Career

He tried to start his career with his real name Jahron B. He was in high school at the time and only had dreams of working with Noah “40” Shebib, Drake, and Oliver El-Khatib.

Those guys seemed to have endless success. At the time he knew how to use computers and had a fake hit counter that he used to make his songs and post on Myspace.

He tried to collaborate with various producers and labels but he was met with lots of rejection.

Since they didn’t believe in him he figured he’d learn to produce his own music and since he’s been successful today it’s tough for him to let anyone else make his music.

After a while, a manager found Party on Myspace and he moved from Mississauga for L.A. at 17 years old.

His manager covered the majority of his living expenses. His mom would send him about $50 bucks bi-weekly to help with his food.

Repaying his mom was one of the things he looked forward to and prayed about. Today he has reimbursed his initial management double their investment.

At the age of 18 Party penned a songwriting deal with Warner/Chappell. It was under this deal that he started using the name PartyNextDoor.

He dropped his first mixtape was self-titled and released on iTunes on July 1, 2013. It hit number 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart selling 2,000 copies.

It reached number 34 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He sang the background vocals on “Come Thru” and “Own It” for Drake’s third studio album, “Nothing Was the Same”.

His debut studio album “PartyNextDoor Two dropped on July 30, 2014. At this time he was signed to OVO Sound which is Drake’s record label.

A few of the singles released from this album were “Her Way”, “Sex on the Beach”, “Muse” and the Billboard charted single “Recognize” which featured Drake.

The album reached #1 on the US R&B and US R&B/Hip-Hop charts. It hit #5 on the UK R&B chart and #15 on the Billboard 200 chart.

On December 3, 2014 he released a 4-track EP called PNDColours. In 2015 Party produced 3 songs on Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”, including “Legend, “Preach”, and “Wednesday Night Interlude”.

PartyNextDoor was awarded his first number-one song for songwriter on January 27, 2016 for the Rihanna single “Work”.
