Rich Dollaz was born Richard Ashton Trowers on August 4, 1977, in Waterbury, Connecticut. Information on Rich parents has not been published, but we know they are African American.

He went to college in Nashville, Tennessee where he allegedly became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. When he graduated college he initially moved to Atlanta and worked at a hotel for a year.

One of his frat brothers reached out to him and told him that Puff was looking to hire someone for his New York office. Rich had already interned for Bad Boy so he had experience. He took the trip up there and they gave him a chance. Puffy gave him his “Rich Dollaz” nickname.

Personal life

Rich has not yet been married, but he is said to have four children in total. Even though he has two sons and two daughters, it’s only the oldest daughter who has been revealed.

His oldest daughter’s name is Ashley Trowers and his baby mama is Chaundrea Nicolle. Their relationship ended on bad terms and Chaundrea accused Rich of not supporting his child or paying for childcare.

Rich was in the middle of an interview at a radio station when the cops came in and arrested him. His baby mama could then be heard screaming at him about refusing to take a paternity test and trying to deny her child.

It turns out that he received a warrant for missing a court appearance regarding the paternity suit. The mother of his other three children has not been revealed.

In 2015 Rich dated the reality television co-star from VH1’s Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood Moniece Slaughter for a short while.

He has reportedly dating Erica Mena from 2012-2013 Engagement rumors have surfaced off and on but were never confirmed. Richie’s ex Chaundrea made claims that he and Erica Mena were only pretending to be together for publicity.

Rich has had quite a list of affairs over the past years. In 2014 Richie was linked to Cyn, in 2015 he was with Jhonni Blaze, in 2018 he dated Mariahlynn, and he was lastly allegedly dating Diamond Strawberry.

In October 2014 Richie was arrested in Hudson for hindering apprehension. He is said to have given police a false name. He was released on the next day after he posted $10,500 bail.

In 2018 Richie appeared on the MTV show Catfish because his nephew Rove allegedly tricked a lady into thinking it was Rich she was getting to know.

When the truth was revealed Richie claimed he had nothing to do with it and his nephew stated he was just having fun on the internet.

Lots of viewers chimed in saying they believe Richie was the original communicator and paid his nephew to take the fall since he wound up on the show.

Career

Dollaz started out working as an intern for eight years at Bad Boy Records right after college. He assisted with the launch of various musicians including Ryan Leslie, Gorilla Zoe, Young Joc, and Cassie.

Richie was very helpful with the initial success of Cassie, and he has been credited with helping the launch of her first single “Me & U”. When he left Bad Boy Records, Universal Music hired him to be the head of radio promotion, a position he worked in until he started his own management firm Dollaz Unlimited.

When Richie started his own company he was able to utilize all the skills and experience he gained while interning. He already knew the ropes of helping media personalities, actors, musicians, models, and authors pave their way to success.

Richie became a reality television star when he joined the cast on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop series in 2011. He started getting cast for Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood in 2015.

His firm Dollaz Unlimited represents castmates Olivia Longot, Erica Mena, and more artists. He has assisted stars including Cheri Dennis, Cory Gunz, R-Les, and Danity Kane.

  • Richie’s first real project at Bad Boy Records was “Making the Band”. It was the season that included Chopper and Babs and the rest of the crew. He worked in promo and marketing at that time.
  • Richie says that during his 10 years on the show Love and Hip Hop it was a learning process for everyone. One of the biggest lessons he learned was that sometimes you have to consider the right thing to do and not just the business gain He gave away Erica’s record to Olivia, and even though it made sense as a business move, it was a wrong thing to do because it hurt Erica on a personal level.
  • Richie is the founder of a foundation in Memphis for battered women and children called Miracles House of Restoration.
