Introduction

Most recently, Ja Rule made headlines for being a part of the failed Fyre Festival in 2017, but he’s been a hugely successful rapper for nearly 30 years.

Ja’s greatest successes in the music industry were in the early 2000s. He produced hit after hit and was always at the top of the Billboard charts.

However, fame got to his head and he started feuding with other rappers and getting into trouble with the law. He’s trying to reclaim his career now.

Early Life

Ja Rule was born Jeffery Bruce Atkins in Queens, New York City, on February 29th, 1976.

His father, William, left when Ja Rule was just a baby, leaving his mother Debra to raise him as a single mother. Sadly, Ja Rule’s sister Kristen died in her mother’s womb so Ja was raised an only child.

Ja’s mother was a nurse and worked long hours, so Ja was primarily raised by his grandparents.

They were Jehovah’s Witnesses, and that became Ja’s religion too. When he was 12, he broke away from the church and sadly began a life of crime.

As a young teenager, he was selling drugs on the street to make extra money. He did not graduate from high school.

Personal life

Even though he didn’t graduate from high school and was involved in a life of crime as a teenager, Ja eventually did get his GED while he was serving time in prison. It is something he is very proud of.

Ja met the love of his life, Aisha Murray, when he was in his early 20’s. The couple had three children, Brittney Asja Atkins, Jeffery Junior and Jordan. Ja Rule and Aisha tied the knot in 2001, after being together for quite some time.

1.Do everything you can to keep yourself out of trouble and keep yourself out of jail. Go to school, even if you don’t enjoy it. Jail is not cool.
