Early Life
50 Cent was born as Curis Jackson III in Queens, New York and raised by a single mother, Sabrina. He later admitted that his mother was heavily involved in street life through deal dealing, prostitution and other illegal activities.
A young mother, his mother was 15 years old when she had him. When he was eight years old, his mother was died in a mysterious fire, which was thought to have been gang-related.
Allegedly, someone roofied her, causing her to fall asleep and then turned the gas on. Losing his mother at such a young age in such a violent matter had a great impact on him. With no father in his life, he moved in with his grandparents.

At the age of 12, he began to sell drugs to make ends meet. He lied to his grandmother about participating in afterschool activities, while he was selling narcotics. After entering the street life, he was arrested multiple times for different offenses.
When he was still attending school, he was caught with a gun, drugs and drug money on the premises and was arrested. Other arrests include selling cocaine to an undercover police officer and getting caught with a firearm in his home.

Personal Life
50 Cent has two children, Marquise Jackson and Sire Jackson by two different women (Shaniqua Tompkins and Daphne Joy). His first son, Marquise, was born on October 13, 1997. Marquise’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins, later sued 50 Cent for $50 million.
However, the lawsuit was later dismissed by a judge who labeled the lawsuit as a “love relationship gone wrong.” Shaniqua and 50 Cent dated for many years in the 90s. However, after their split, they have experienced a very turbulent relationship.
It wasn’t until 2008 that they were able to form a mutual agreement regarding the custody of their son. As recent of 2018, the former couple have argued publicly on social media.
