Personal life

At the age of 12, Toya met rapper Lil Wayne at a corner store outside New Orleans, Louisiana. The two of them got together and by the age of 14 Toya was pregnant with their daughter.

On November 29, 1998, at the age of 15 Toya had their daughter Reginae Carter. Years later after Lil Wayne achieved his stardom, the couple got married on February 14, 2004.

Unfortunately, two years later in January 2006, the couple wound up splitting up because Toya struggled to cope with the rapper’s lifestyle.

Hi, career kept him away from home for far too long. Even though the couple divorced they remained good friends and were still able to raise their daughter together.

On June 18, 2011, Toya and Mickey “Memphitz” Wright got married in Atlanta. Memphitz used to be a Vice President for A&R at Jive Records and gain lots of popularity for his discovery of T-Pain.

Some of the popular attendees included Tiny, rapper Rasheeda, Kandi, Nivea, Monica Brown, Lauren London, and Tamar Braxton-Herbert. In February 2015, Toya announced that she was separated from Wright. It is rumored that he wasn’t happy about Toya keeping his last name.

On July 31, 2016, Toya’s brothers Rudy and Josh were killed by gunfire in New Orleans while inside their car. The police received several tips that someone named Toine or Tweezy had mentioned that he completed the shootings.

Cops arrested Antoine Edwards and charged him with second-degree murder on March 13, 2017. Toya was very appreciative of all the prayers and report received during this situation. She mentioned that Lil Wayne instantly flew in to be at her side during the tough time.

On February 8, 2018, Toya had a baby girl Reign Ryan Rushing with her then-boyfriend Robert “Red” Rushing. Rushing is an Atlanta sports manager and owner of the “2 Commas” clothing brand.

On December 17, 2018, during an episode sneak peek of T.I. and Tiny’s: Friends and Family Hustle, Toya posted and deleted on Instagram that she and Robert Rushing had gotten married.

Career

Toya Wright’s acting career began in 2009 when she and Tameka “Tiny” Harris from R&B group Xscape (also rapper T.I.’s wife) had a reality show together on BET called Tiny and Toya.

Her stardom got a real boost when Toya got her own show called “Toya: A Family Affair“. Her own show had 16 episodes and ran for a single season in 2011.

In addition to those two shows Toya has also appeared on the reality show “Fox Reality Really Awards” as well as the film “My Super Sweet 16” in 2014. In 2016 Toya appeared in “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars”.
