Career

DJ Envy honed his instrumental skills under the influence of DJ Clue. When DJ Envy first started out Dj Clue would tutor him. Eventually, in the mid-90s he made his way to the mixtape world.

DJ Envy learned fast, and by the 2000s he had already reached the top of his career. He gained even more prominence in the entertainment industry when he started adding the latest freestyles.

DJ Envy was featured on Hot 97 radio shows including “Takin It To The Street” and he eventually became a host of the station’s morning show with Miss Jones.

In 2008 the show ended due to Miss Jones’ departure to Philadelphia. Afterwards, Envy began arranging his own shows such as “People’s mix”, “Hip-Hop Nation on Sirius XM radio” and then he had a weekend show airing on Power 105.

In December 2010 the morning show on Power 105 was named “The Breakfast Club”, and DJ Envy teamed up with Charlamagne Tha God, and Angela Yee as hosts of the show.

Envy says the opportunity was presented to him as a potential thing to try and he was kind of skeptical about losing his mornings at first. When he met with his cohosts they all clicked very well and they’ve been going strong cohosting together ever since.

The established DJ has had lots of success throughout his entertainment journey. He dropped a record called “Still A Fan” featuring popular recording artist Rico Love.
