One of the reasons that Tfue has been able to amass such a large amount of wealth in such a short amount of time is because he has multiple ways of earning money.

The website Esports Earnings reports that Tfue was able to earn over $522,000 dollars from prize money alone.

This prize money came from a total of 30 professional gaming tournaments in which Tfue served as a participant.

The tournaments included both offline and online professional gaming competitions.

Another significant source of money for Tfue is the YouTube videos that he has uploaded depicting him playing video games.

The average YouTube video plays between two to seven dollars for each 1000 monetized views, and Tfue earns up to $12,000 per day from these types of videos.

When earning money from Twitch, Tfue relies upon his more than 1.3 million followers and the average 18,000 views that he receives per stream.

On Twitch, streamers are able to earn money through ads, subscriptions and donations from fans. On average, a Twitch streamer can expect to make $3.5 for every subscriber, and Tfue has more than 18,000 Twitch subscribers.

Introduction

The professional gamer is well-known for his YouTube videos and Twitch streams. He gained notoriety as an Esports athlete while working with the FaZe Clan.

Despite his wealth, fame and previous camaraderie with his fellow professional gamers, Tfue has been making the headlines after suing the rest of the FaZe Clan.

He claims that his contract with the Clan has denied him the opportunity to gain even greater wealth and fame.

Early Life

Tfue was born Turner Tenney on January 2, 1998. Although he would later move to LA, he was originally from Indiana Rocks Beach, Florida. Jack and Alexandra are his siblings.

From an early age, Tfue loved video games. Although he is currently most known for his Fortnite playing abilities, he also grew up loving Call of Duty, PUBG, H1Z1, and Halo.

In addition to playing video games, Tfue is a very active outdoorsman. He has demonstrated particular skill as a skimboarder and a longboarder. Jumping cliffs and getting on his skateboard to relieve some stress are a few of his favorite past times when he is able to enjoy the great outdoors.

Personal Life

While not much is known about Tfue’s love life, he is currently single and has never been married.

Much more can be learned about his personal interactions with the rest of the FaZe Clan. In May of 2019, Tfue filed a lawsuit against the Clain, alleging that the FaZe Clan had done all of the following:

  • Pressured Tfue to live in one of the LA homes the Clan owned
  • Encouraged underage drinking
  • Condoned illegal gambling
  • Pressured Tfue to participate in dangerous stunt actions
  • Denied Tfue business opportunities by limiting his sponsorships

But the greatest claims in Tfue’s lawsuit have to do with financial manners. Tfue claims that he was only able to earn 20% from any Twitch video, YouTube video, touring, appearance, or social media publicity.

An article in Forbes alleges that there is an additional reason that Tfue wants to leave. He is apparently interested in beginning his own esports team. If he was still under contract with FaZe Clan, he would never be able to start his own team.

By breaking away from FaZe Clan, Tfue may have the freedom to completely revolutionize the professional gaming world.

But Tfue also claims that the lawsuit is necessary to help change the terms of financial reimbursement in professional gaming circles. His attorney alleges that the professional gaming industry is so new that there are few oversights or rules to protect the gamers. If the suit is successful, that could change.

For their part, the FaZe Clan took to Twitter to dispute Tfue’s allegations. They claim that they have taken only $60,000 from Tfue, while he has earned millions.

While they acknowledge that the leaked contract seemed oppressive, the FaZe Clan also claims that Tfue has been offered better contracts since then.

But his career has had its share of controversy as well. in 2018, he was banned from Twitch for using a racial slur during a live stream. Tfue claims that he did not mean the slur in a racist way, and his original 30-day ban was reduced to just 14 days.

Once Tfue achieved the wealth and fame that he believed he wanted, he discovered that the professional gaming industry was not everything he thought it should be to new players.

He took legal action to protect both himself and future gamers from being written into contracts that Tfue considered unfair.
