When it came time to take his SAT, Smith scored high. He was also admitted to a pre-engineering program at MIT for high school students.

If Smith had wanted to attend college, there was very little doubt that he could have had a very successful college career ahead of him.

But even as a teenager, Smith knew that college was not in the cards. While he might not have any idea of the film and television superstardom that awaited him, he did know that he wanted to rap. Instead of applying for college, Smith sethis sights on becoming a rapper.

Part of the reason for the divorce may have been that Smith was already in love with someone else.

Smith admitted to having to get up and leave dinnera he was enjoying with his first wife when he realized that she was not the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with as a husband.

The woman that Smith thought he was going to spend the rest of his life with was Jada Pinkett. Immediately after signing the divorce papers, Smith called Jada and asked her out on a date.

Smith and Jada married in 1997. The two have two children: Jaden, born in 1998, and Willow, born in 2000. The two of them have also been active co-parents in raising Trey.

Although most know him these days as a film star, Smith actually began his career as the rapper he aspired to become while still a teenager. He joined forces with childhood friend, Jeffrey Townes.

Townes was known as DJ Jazzy Jeff and Smith was known as The Fresh Prince.

The duo began to perform as DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. As the two began to release singles in the mid-eighties, rap lyrics were often known for their aggressive lyrics.

But Jazzy Jeff and Smith favorited more humorous songs, as found in the lyrics of their song, “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble” and “parents Just Don’t Understand.”

In 1989, the duo accepted a Grammy for Best Rap Performance. Their last album came out in 1993. When Smith was investigated by the IRS for owing back taxes, he decided to pursue a career in acting.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” ran for 6 seasons and was immensely successful. From 1990 to 1997, Smith was very busy acting on his television show and launching a solo music career.

He released the album “Big Willie Style,” which would later give Smith his first number one single with the song “Gettin’ Jiggy wit It.”

Smith’s first major film came in 1993 with his role in “Six Degrees of Separation.” Roles in “Bad Boys” and “Independence Day” followed, helping Smith successfully transition from former television star to film star.
