Introduction

Lil Pump burst onto the scene in 2017 with his sick flows. He’s an American singer, producer and rapper who is known for his loud personality. In fact, you’ll often hear him using his catchphrase, “Esskeetit” which is a version of him saying “Let’s get it!”

He says what he thinks, and he doesn’t care what impact it has on others. He’s been very open about his drug use. Lil Pump also doesn’t care what his image is or his standing with the public. He’s often on social media doing drugs or illegal behavior.

Lil Pump became popular after releasing the song “Gucci Gang” in 2017, which made it all the way to the number three song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Early Life

Gazzy Garcia was born on August 17th, 2000. He is 18 years old. He’s known professionally by his rap name, “Lil Pump.” Lil Pump is from Miami, Florida but his parents are both from Columbia.

His mom moved to Miami after the birth of Lil Pump’s older brother. Unfortunately, his parents divorced when Lil Pump was six years old.

Lil Pump had a rough upbringing, mainly brought on by himself. He got involved with the wrong group of people and started misbehaving.

When he was thirteen, his cousin “Lil Ominous” introduced him to another teen named Omar Pineiro. Pineiro is known as “Smokepurpp” and eventually became a collaborator on Garcia’s future albums.

Together, the two were very badly behaved. They did drugs and were both expelled from multiple Miami public schools.

Lil Pump was forced to enroll in an opportunity high school, but unfortunately, he was unable to complete his education. He was expelled in tenth grade for fighting and starting a riot.

Personal life

Lil Pump has tons of tattoos and is known for his extremely wild behavior. He makes no effort to hide his bad behavior and almost seems to flaunt it.

He smokes marijuana on Instagram videos posted to his account and has talked about using drugs frequently. However, on a number of occasions, he’s claimed to give up marijuana and Xanax, only to later say he was just kidding.

They didn’t find it but arrested him for getting aggressive with officers.

Career

Lil Pump started his rap career in 2016 when he was featured on his best friend Smokepurrp’s single. It was released in 2016.

His next four tracks, “Ignorant,” “Elementary,” “Drum $tick” and “Gang Shit” were streamed more than three million times, boosting his popularity. He was able to headline the “No Jumper” tour in 2016.

In 2017, he released two more tracks, “Boss” and “D Rose.” These two tracks were streamed on Soundcloud more than 70 million times!

A Chicago-based director created a music video out of “D Rose” and it had more than 150 million views on Youtube.

After this success, Lil Pump signed with Tha Lights Global and Warner Brothers, but the Warner Brothers contract ended when they found out he was just seventeen years old.

In July 2017, he released the single “Gucci Gang” which made it up to number three on the Billboard charts. It was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA. In October 2017, he released his debut studio album, which was self-titled.

Lil Pump is known for being a heavy drug user, which is why announcements that he’s quit certain drugs are very surprising.

In January of 2018, Lil Pump said that he was no longer using Xanax. It was something he was committed to along with his best friend Smokepurpp. However, it is unclear if that’s something he stayed committed to.

On his song “Be Like Me,” Lil Pump expresses his desire for everyone to live like a rich rap star.

Tips for success from Lil Pump

  • If you want to be at the top of peoples’ minds, do something that will make you unforgettable. If you’re always just doing normal things, no one will remember you.
  • When you have money, spend it on what you want to spend it on. If you want a luxury watch, buy it. If you want a car, buy it. You shouldn’t always be chasing your dreams, you should be living them.
  • You’re not on this world to please other people. Other people can think whatever they want about you, but you shouldn’t let it impact who you are or what you think about yourself.
  • It is ok to be prideful when you have the work history and success to back it up. You don’t always have to be humble.
  • If you have strong enemies, you know that you’re strong. You should take it as a compliment when adversaries push back against you. That means that you’re growing in your own success and making a name for yourself.
