Master P’s net worth is $350 million. He started his career in the early 90s and has risen to the top tier of hip hop royalty over the years.

During the early 90s, Master P started producing records with the help of a $10,000 investment from his grandfather. He used this money to create his own label, No Limit Records.

Early Life

Master P was born was Percy Robert Miller in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the oldest of five children, including one sister (Germaine) and three brothers.

They lived in Calliope Project as they grew up. One brother’s name is Kevin and the other two brothers are well-known in the music business.

His brother Corey goes by “C-Murder,” his brother Vyshonne goes by “Silkk the Shocker.” Master P went to Booker T. Washington High School and Warren High School and was on the basketball team at both schools.

He also sold cell phones, while being a student a high school to have his own form of income. After graduating, he attended the University of Houston.

He entered with an athletic scholarship, but he dropped out after a few months in his first year and transferred to Merritt College in Oakland, California. It was there that he sought a degree in business administration.

After his grandfather died, Miller inherited $10,000 and opened a record store in Richmond, California. He opened a record label with the same name of the store No Limit Records.

He released music called Mind of a Psychopath in 1990, the same year that his younger brother, Kevin, was killed in New Orleans.

Personal life

In 1989, Master P married Sonya and went on to have seven children with her, including his superstar rapper and actor son, Romeo Miller.

Two of the seven children were Sonya’s children from a previous relationship, but he accepted them as his own.

The couple divorced in 2014. In 2005, Master P was presented with the key to the city by the then mayor of Memphis, Willie W. Herenton, Jr. In 2010, congresswoman Maxine Waters awarded Master P and Romeo a Certificate of Special Recognition.

In 2010, he attended an anti-obesity event with Michelle Obama. In 2016, he and Robert Pack formed Team HOPE NOLA, an acronym for “Helping Our Players Excel” where 20 at-risk males ages 12-15 are chosen from New Orleans schools to receive coaching and advice on practical life situations.

In addition, Master P is known for trying to help and mentor the rapper Kodak Black after the young rapper reached out for help.

However, they soon fell out as a result of differences in opinions on how to approach their new mentorship relationship.

Career

After Master P opened his first small business, a record store, it was only a matter of years before it turned into one of the biggest music brands.

He also ventured off into taking on television, film and acting projects in addition to clothing lines, sports and real estate business.

Today, Master P has sold over 75 million records, won 5 Grammys, 3 MTV Awards, 4 BET Awards, 4 American Music Awards and has starred in countless hit movies, such as Dark Blue, Gone in 60 Seconds and more in addition to co-starring in TV series such as CSI:NY, Oz and Dark Angel.

Master P created a sports talent agency organization, No Limit Sports, including first draft pick NBA players: Jason Terry, Ricky Davis, Derek Anderson, etc. He also has produced eight films, written and directed six and appeared in over twelve studio releases.

Master P has also contributed to many causes since growing his net worth, such as funding Saint Monica Elementary School of New Orleans, preventing it from closing.

He also established a food program called One Million Gifts during Thanksgiving to help disadvantaged families receive support.
