When Sheen was a child, his family moved to Hollywood. His father was a successful theater actor who wanted to make the transition to movies.

In 2011, the show took a break from production while Sheen entered alcohol and drug rehabilitation. During his rehabilitation, CBS executives claimed that Sheen had made disparaging comments about CBS and the show’s producers.

The station then announced that Sheen would not be returning after 2011. His role went to Ashton Kutcher.
