As a child, Akon learned how to play at least five different instruments including guitar, drums, and djembe and in his teen years, he didn’t get along well with the other kids.
When Akon was 7 years old, he and his family moved to Union City, New Jersey, where his parents left him and his older brother on their own when they had just started high school and the rest of his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
