Early Life
Bow Wow was born in Columbus, Ohio and is the son of Teresa Rena Caldwell and Alfonso Preston Moss. When Bow Wow was three years old, he showed great interest in music and rap.
A great fan of N.W.A., he used the moniker of “Kid Gangsta” and started rapping for fun at six years old. His life changed in 1993 when Snoop Dogg noticed him during a concert in Los Angeles.
He nicknamed him “Lil’ Bow Wow.” When he turned eleven, he met with record producer, Jermaine Dupri, and began to develop his career under his wing.

After over ten years in the industry, Bow Wow planned to release his album on Cash Money Records, but the album was delayed. Then, in 2011, he announced online that the record would not be by the end of the year.
He wanted to feature several acts, including Birdman, Chris Brown, Boyz II Men, Game, Sean Kingston, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Meek Mills, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Styles P, Nelly, Nas, DMX and Talub Kweli.
