A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s real name is Artist Julius Dubose. His birthdate is December 6, 1995. He was born in a neighborhood in the Bronx called Highbridge located in New York City. He spent the majority of his childhood in Highbridge.
He gained an interest in rapping at the age of 12. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School where he was able to sharp his rap skills. He would perform in ciphers during lunch, reciting rhymes he had prewritten and kept stored in the notebook he toted around.
A Boogie would get into trouble as a kid. He found himself in legal trouble when he got involved in selling narcotics and cannabis. He parents wound up sending him to Florida.

A Boogie wit da Hoodie really started his rap career as a child. Once he released his first track at nineteen, he was a professional artist.
The first track he released “Temporary” was produced by Mystery White. It took several months to finish the track because A Boogie didn’t have a rap flow.
The 5 feet 10-inch rapper wound up hiring a coach to help him sharpen his singing voice. By 2015, he relocated to New York with a goal of having a full-time job as a hip-hop artist.
He worked with fellow rapper Quincy “QP” Acheampong, and they founded the Highbridge label and built a home studio. A year late in 2016, he dropped his very first mixtape. This mixtape called “Artist” is what really jumpstarted his career.
During this time he was actually dealing with a bad breakup, and that wound up being the influence behind the songs and his sound overall. The mixtape got him lots of recognition and Forbes named him as an up-and-coming rapper.
He eventually went to work with rapper Don Q. Together in May of 2016, they produced a project called “Highbridge the Label The Takeover Vol.1.”. By July 2016 he got a record deal with Atlantic Records.
In October 2016 when A Boogie put out his EP called “TBA” (for The Biggest Artist), it was pretty successful. It peaked at number 63 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
The EP was eventually featured in Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 40 Best Rap Albums of 2016. Four tracks on his EP received sales certification from the RIAA: “Drowning” featuring Kodak Black and “My Shit” earned platinum status, while “Jungle” and “Timeless” received gold status.
